Dunham Rehearsal - July 2026

We all arrived Friday for yet another hot and dry weekend, some had a long journey with Renato taking 5 1/2 hours (that’s dedication for you). Friday afternoon we had a ukulele workshop with Elaine and Roger, Graham joined us and Roger gave us some useful tips. This was followed by recorders workshop and Stretchersize with Carole with lots joining in [with a few creaks and moans] but very enjoyable. Thank you Carole, hope we can do this again - certainly loosened us all up. Good rehearsal running through our repertoire which I thought sounded good as the acoustics in the hall were excellent.
Tenors and basses had first rehearsal in the hall on Saturday so a little lie in for us ladies. Brian put us through our paces on the new music. I love California dreaming and how deep is your love, maybe because I know and like them. By Sunday they were both sounding quite good. Saturday social was fun. Couple of good quizzes and a music quiz by Sue and John, followed by a dance competition which showed us we can dance [if that’s what you call it] and sing.
Sunday was morning reflection with Carol Kyle and then final rehearsal. Lunch at the pub next door for some and homeward journey for others.
Well done Brian and Roger (oh and not forgetting Baz). Obviously leaving us with lots of work to do at home before our concert in Wales. Thanks to Marshals and tea monitors for yet another great weekend- a sort of sun, singing and soccer weekend.
