Hose Rally Apr 2025

We all arrived in perfect weather to be met and sited by our marshals Sue and John Burke and Carole Howorth and Nick Robinson. So lovely to see Mike Johnson who spent the afternoon and evening with us, we all hope he will feel able to join us again soon.

Our first rehearsal took place on Friday evening and was led by Brian Rollins our MD with music backing created by Roger Reading. We practiced a variety of pieces old and new followed by wine, nibbles and a chat catch-up with friends. Even though our numbers were depleted we had a really enjoyable session.

Saturday morning rehearsal was split into men and women separately, with lovely homemade cakes at 10.45am coffee break. Saturday afternoon was a joint effort with the full choir and Baz and Roger on guitars. A photo shoot followed with the choir dressed for a performance.

Looking for advice - higher or lower?

Saturday evening entertainment was new. Playing Card Bingo and Play Your Cards Right. Only David Clay and Tony Dibsdall managed the right cards to win! There were lots of very good well presented surprise prizes for all the other winners. The raffle made £76 for our charity.

Sunday morning rehearsal was a practice for the Cheshire performance Rally, with more coffee and lovely cakes at 10.45am. Thanks again to Brian and Roger for their hard work and dedication to the choir.

At 2pm Sunday lunch was taken out at the Rose and Crown. Great venue good food-they certainly didn’t stint on the vegetables!

Sunday evening games was enjoyable for the few who could stay on. The rally ended on Monday after perfect weather for the whole rally. A big thank you to all the Marshals and helpers for all your hard work in making the weekend so much fun.
