We all arrived on Monday 19 August in readiness to start the first rehearsal at 12 noon. The venue was about 300 yards from the Brecon site, so just a nice walk there and back. Everyone enjoyed the first run through and Brian seemed satisfied with how it went.
Clare, Gary, Sue and John were the CLO's, got every one organised ready and all moved to the next field, and not far off where the singers were going to perform in the big marquee. We had a couple days
rest and everyone did their own thing exploring the area.
On the Tuesday we walked into Brecon via the canal, which goes from Brecon basin to Telford. Some enjoyed a trip on the canal, we called at a pub for lunch and then walked back along the canal. The
weather was ok until the wind got up and too cold to sit out. It rained over night.

Wednesday we walked into Brecon and visited the Cathedral, St. John the Evangelist, it is the only Cathedral which is surrounded by a wall. Brecon as a varied assortment of shops, cafes and pubs.
Thursday was another rehearsal, in readiness for the performance on Saturday and all went well.
Friday there was a singers workshop, it was well attended and everyone enjoyed it. A few people are interested and hopefully we will see them again at the next rally, AGM in Stratford. There was entertainment on each evening over the weekend.

The Singers did well with the competitions, Roger came first in the handicrafts, and the Quiz team, John, Sandra, Jenny and Mike came first, after about four rounds of general quiz questions. Well done to all. The Singers performance on the Saturday evening was well received, the Chairman of CAMC David Turner and his wife attended, and after the performance he got up to say a few words, he said he didn't know what to expect, he had heard about the singers but had never seen them perform. He was pleasantly surprised and didn't realise how good they were. He enjoyed the performance and hoped he would see them again. Watch this space!!
Well done all the Singers. There was a Ukulele workshop and the Chairman also joined in with his ukulele and a jamming session with the singers, which everyone enjoyed.
All in all everyone enjoyed the Welsh National and they thanked the Singers for attending.
