Rolleston on Dove Rally July 2025

We arrived at this amazing campsite in beautiful sunshine. They had a huge outside stage and undercover seating and bar area, complete with showers and toilets. Friday evening rehearsal was in the lovely upstairs room with patio doors and balcony overlooking the fields. Just a pity they don’t allow dogs but its more important to us to have our furry friends and Singers with us. Our Friday evening rehearsal went really well led by our M.D Brian and Roger our music backing creator. This was followed by our usual wine, nibbles and chatter.

Saturday morning was once again ladies first and men after the tea break which works really well. Saturday night started with cocktail tasting expertly made by Gary and Claire from our leftover drinks from home. We followed that with our very own Talent Concert consisting of songs, playing instruments, poems, skits etc. What a talented bunch we are. We did a raffle during the break and raised £75, and also had a table quiz which was fun. The evening ended with a few songs from our very own talented Prescriptions Band which we sang along to and some of us even got up to dance, A really good evening.

Sunday morning we began with the new song we had learnt ‘Siyahamba” with Brian on the drums which sounded really good. After doing a couple of songs with Baz and Roger on their guitars we continued going through our repertoire which gave us renewed confidence for our next Concert. Thanks must go to Brian for all the hard work he puts in. He certainly got through a lot of shirts!

After saying our goodbyes to our friends that had to leave on Sunday, we walked to the pub for Sunday Lunch. Sunday evening was a much more restful event chatting, playing games and listening to our talented band. Once again a wonderful week end with the Singers thanks to the marshals, Viv, Baz,

Elaine and Roger. Not forgetting the tea boys and girls for stepping in to cover our usual helpers.
